On November 12 and 13, Jeffrey Van Vyve and Andres Van Der Steen were invited by Imprivata for their “2024 Ignite Partner Summit”. Imprivata brought together partners from all over Europe at the Sofitel in Barcelona.
During this event we explored the strategic and business-oriented roadmap, where we learned some interesting insights into Imprivata’s vision for the future.
Jeffrey and Andres represented IS4U in Barcelona and are willing to share their experiences. Below are their 3 key takeaways from the Imprivata Partner Summit.
Imprivata Partner Summit takeaway #1
Mobile Device Access (MDA) is the future
It’s been the talk of the town for some time now, and during the summit the topic “Mobile Device Access (MDA)” was a hot topic! This confirmed its growing importance in the healthcare sector and beyond.
Shared mobile devices are becoming the go-to solution, replacing traditional “medical workstation” (also called COW’s; Computer on Wheels) in hospitals, care homes and other medical environments. Imprivata dreams of a future where mobile devices streamline workflows, which results in healthcare professionals to save time and focus more on patient care.
The key benefits of MDA:
- Enforcing security & removing shared credentials: Ensures compliance and protects sensitive information.
- Supporting fast, simple exchange of devices: Keeps workflows smooth, even during high-demand scenarios.
- Improving adoption and usability of mobile tools: Encourages greater use of mobile technology by making it more intuitive and efficient.
With seamless integration of Mobile Device Management (MDM) tools and MDA, organizations can enjoy a one-stop shop for managing devices and securing access, a game-changer for the healthcare industry.
Imprivata Partner Summit takeaway #2
Touchless patient access
One of the most talked-about innovations during the event was the “touchless facial and palm vein recognition for patient access”. This cloud-based solution eliminates the need for badges or other physical credentials, offering a fast, seamless and hygienic experience. This feature even works for people wearing masks. Which results in higher efficiency and time saving, which as everybody knows, is crucial in the Healthcare industry.
The key benefits summed up:
- Increased patient safety: Accurate matching ensures the right care for the right patient.
- Streamlined check-ins: Faster and hassle-free registration, even with masks, saves valuable time.
- Enhanced patient experience: A smoother process leads to higher patient satisfaction.
- Reduced administrative burden: Less paperwork frees up staff for more critical tasks.
This solution isn’t limited to healthcare and holds potential for industries like logistics, where touchless authentication could streamline parcel tracking and monitoring.
“The potential for touchless authentication extends far beyond hospitals—it’s a game-changer for any sector seeking to enhance control, security, and time management.”

Imprivata Partner Summit takeaway #3
EAM – Faster, more features, and Intuitive
Imprivata’s Enterprise Access Management (EAM), formerly known as Imprivata OneSign, is the way-to-go for healthcare professionals to access patient data. Imprivata EAM simplifies how to access the electronic health records (EHRs), providing fast, secure and seamless workflows.
Key benefits of Imprivata’s EAM:
- Speed and efficiency: healthcare professionals can save up to 45 minutes per shift by reducing repetitive logins. A simple badge-tap grants quick access to patient information, eliminating the need for complex passwords.
- Enhanced security: By replacing passwords, EAM ensures compliance with regulations (like NIS2) and lowers the risks of credential-sharing.
- New UI and expanded features: The updated interface makes navigating the system much easier and intuitive.
The result? Healthcare professionals can focus more on patient care and less on technology. This makes Imprivata’s EAM improves efficiency and security across all healthcare environments.
On a personal note
This Partner event was not only about new products, cool features and roadmaps. It was also the perfect time to connect with peers. We met interesting Imprivata partners from all over the continent; exchanging ideas and learning from one another, which led to valuable insights.
In addition to connecting with industry experts, Jeffrey and Andres also had the chance to meet with Imprivata’s Chief Product Officer. They talked about the event, market trends and perhaps most importantly, about how to communicate and implement the upcoming roadmap with IS4U’s clients!
